  • NASHVILLE SKYLINE: Sugarland's Next CD Worth the Wait
Sugarland's upcoming CD is a leading candidate for country album of the year. Love on the Inside, which releases on July 22 and July 29 in its two versions, comes in two models: regular and deluxe edition. The latter, for a few dollars more, includ

  • Dan Tyminski Steps Into Solo Spotlight on Wheels
Dan Tyminski is a reluctant lead singer, which is surprising for a few reasons. First of all, he consistently holds his own as a vocalist and guitarist in Alison Krauss & Union Station, which is one of the most formidable bands in any genre of music.

  • Kathy Mattea Mines Home and Heritage for New Album
Kathy Mattea's Coal has the stark clarity and elegance of a black-and-white photograph. It is a concept album to be sure, but it involves more than just the exploration of a single theme. There is an overarching mood here as well -- a grim, ploddin

  • Tim McGraw Says He Was Just Keeping the Peace
Tim McGraw downplayed the incident in which he helped eject an unruly fan from his concert. Out walking with wife Faith Hill and their daughters in Los Angeles, McGraw told photographers who approached him and asked about the melee that it was no big deal

  • With Music and Laughter, Tom T. Hall and the Statlers Stride Into the Hall of Fame
Tom T. Hall and the Statler Brothers stepped back momentarily from their self-imposed retirement Sunday night (June 29) to demonstrate that they still have the musical magic that made them stars -- and, now, the newest members of the Country Music Hall of

    "Crow (like the bird) lee!"

    Random Cate Summer facts...

Favorite Ice Cream:  Oreo from Goodies

Favorite Olympic sport to watch:  Snowboarding.  Oh, you mean summer?!  That would be diving and swimming

Favorite item on the grill:  Mesquite Grilled Chicken, but I rarely turn down a burger.  Hold the mustard though.  Blech!

Favorite summer activities:  Mountain biking, road biking, swimming, hiking, and rafting.  Did I mention mountain biking?

Favorite mountain biking spot:  In Central Oregon, I like to ride Phil's but I really like to ride the stuff higher up.  Swampy to Town, Mzarek back to Shevlin, Waldo Lake, and the McKenzie River Trail.

Summer vacation plans:  Headed to Colorado for lots of biking, some rafting and hanging out with friends from Texas.

Favorite summer temp:  Anything 85 and below.  I do NOT like to be hot.  How did I live in Texas for four years again?

Number of feet broken the last three years biking?  Two.  It was my face the year before that.

This is what I do when I'm not working, and I'm usually covered in bruises.  Steve actually made me a shirt recently that said, "No, I'm not a victim of domestic violence.  I'm just a hardcore mountain biker."  Gotta love it.
