  • Deschutes Commissioners Back Off On Ham Radio Tower Restrictions

    There will be no restrictions on ham radio tower heights in Deschutes county. Commissioner Mike Daly echoes the view of a majority of the commissioners stating that the ability of amateur radio operators to help with communications during disasters should not be compromised with an ordinance arising out of what he calls a neighborhood dispute. He says the county deals with very few excessive height complaints, and he says that isn’t enough to limit all ham operators.
