Airport District

For the second time in two weeks, Deschutes County Commissioners have delayed a decision on implementing a new urban renewal district for the Bend airport. If approved, this new district would re-direct taxes into a special fund to help pay for improvements at the airport. Commissioner Mike Daly says he is ready to vote yes, but Commissioners Tammy Melton and Dennis Luke want to make sure the loss of revenues won’t hurt other districts such as the rural fire district.
