Being An Ordinary Buddha” Book Release Celebration
Author reading will also serve as a fund raising event for nonprofit organizations
Bend, Ore. (Nov, 2012) — On Thursday, December 13th from 7 – 9:00pm, author Michael Stevens will talk about his newly published book, Being An Ordinary Buddha, Practicing the Natural Mind at the Old Stone Church, 157 NW Franklin in Bend.
The free event, open to all members of the community, will include a reading from the book, a short talk on “Integrating Meditation With Everyday Life”, book signing and sales.
“Everyone wishes to have a more serene and loving life,” said author Michael Stephens. “This book offers a simple practice to help us overcome obstacles to realizing the natural state of peace and compassion through blending meditation seamlessly with everyday life. When we bring a settled mind to all our experiences, all experiences become more settled.”
Throughout the evening, items from Tibetan and Nepali artists will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the art sale will benefit Ten Friends Relief Project in Nepal and the Natural Dharma Center, based in Bend, Oregon.
